Elementary Classroom Observation

The shadow teacher I had was Ms. B . The grade level she tachers is 5th grade. My first impression of Ms.B's classroom was that the classroom was inviting and fun to be in. How many Students did Ms.B have? She had 27 students in her class. Yes I introduced myself to the class. How much did I interact with the students? The first day I did not interact with the students as much as I did on day two. The subject being taught in the class on day one was the Reading Centers and on day two was reading from their reading books and then math. How did the teacher get the students involved with what was being taught? Ms. B asked questions and the students raised their hands and then answered the questions. Would I describe the teacher as inviting? Yes I would describe Ms. B as inviting because she loves her job and likes teaching.
         September 8, 2009 DAY ONE I got to read MISSION TO MARS with the students. Then I told them a little about me and gave them my Blog URL. I told the students about the blog and then I had to go get Miss. A.      September 9 , 2009 DAY TWO When I got there the students were reading from there reading books. Then they wrote their 3 main ideas and a summary. The phone rang two times in the classroom and I answered the phone both times saying "Hello Ms. B's room Samantha speaking." Then I had to go get two students from the IEP room so they could get their school picture taken. Then I made a seating chart so I can get to know all the students' names the next time I come in the class.

Mock Interview Day

Today was Mock Interview Day. I was kind of nervous. I was unsure what was going to be asked of me. I had Ms. M who works at PHS as an Assistant Principal. The interview went well. I answered her questions with complete and thoughtful responses.

Big Books With Coop Kids

The big book went well with the coop kids and it went well because I know all the kids names and they know me.The kids loved it. I think the big books with the coop kids went really good. MISS.S, MISS.M, MISS.K , MR.L, MISS. A, and MISS.E. were the kids we had when we did our big book . The lesson after we read the big book didn't go as we wanted it to go but the kids loved the lesson after the big book was read to them . Then the kids said with us T H E E N D THE END when the book was done.

MISS.E was so cute when we were reading the big book. She was saying she likes puppies. MR.L was a good kid when we were reading the book. He was helping MISS.E when it came to showing the teacher in the class what they had made. What a good kid MR.L was. Then the kids all gave us hugs and sat down with the teacher. MISS.E asked me and Ana where Mommy is at and that she wanted her mommy. I told her Mommy will be here soon but you have to wait MISS.E because Mommy is at work.
